dot1q trunking with extended vlans

Is there an issue while using dot1q sub-interfaces with extended vlans on cat 6500 ?We have alcatel and cat 6500 connected with dot1q trunk in two locations.At layer3 , We have a subinterface defined in two cat 6500 in two locations with a common subnet.It does not ping.

The dot1q subinterface should work with extended vlan, there could be a mismatch in Vlan configuration.
