DSP chips same as ?

I have ben told that the DSP chips that go into the modules are simply memeory modules and that that if I got a good stick of memory with the right specs it would accomplish the same thing in a VG200. True? If so, does any one have the specs on what type of memory? Yes., I know it won't be a TAC supported situation!

Re: DSP chips same as ?

The DSP modules are in no way similar to memory modules. Whoever told you this is wrong... and I wouldn't be letting them near your network. You are correct - if you have installed memory modules in the PVDM slots of a router voice card then you won't get TAC support !
