Our gateway is a VG200 with IOS Version 12.3.17, echo cancellation is enabled with the coverage set to 32ms. I just recently upgraded to 12.3.17, adjusted input gain to -3 and output attenuation to 3 and coverage to 32ms. echo problem is not as bad now but still exists and is intermittent(always has been). Would bumping the echo cancellation coverage up to 64ms correct this problem?
In my experience, adjusting the coverage has far more impact that playing with level settings. We had lots of echo problems with 32ms, and almost none with 64ms. At a couple sites it was also necessary to bump the worst case ERL to 3 db.
