We have a problem with Echo when people are on a conference through a 6608. Our WAN comes into a 7206 which is conneced to the 6509. A separate 5300 (connectee to the 6500 feeds the PSTN via PRI). Remote users on the WAN access the DSPs on the 6608 for conferencing. PSTN access (via the 5300) has no echo but if they conference to the 6608 they get echo. Any ideas on what might be happening?
IS there anyway to QOS enable a 6608 via the 6500 switch itself or is this all Call Manager driven?
You are hitting the bug CSCds32118. The WS-X6608 cancels only echo of 10ms. This bug has been resolved in higher versions of CatOS and also CCM . Upgrading the CatOS to 5.5.5 and upgrade of 6608 load to D004Q300 with the CCM upgrade will solve the echo problems.
