Excessive background noise

Hi, customer running Unity version 2.4.5.57 and CCM 3.0(8) are getting excess background noise during pauses between voice prompts when interacting with Unity voicemail. This problem does not occur during msgs or greetings but only when interacting with the system itself. Is there are way to reduce it?
