I know that there have been several posts regarding Exchange 2000, but maybe I can get some more insight.
We want to implement Exchange 2000 for a customer because of the greatly improved workflow capabilities. This was one of the main selling point of our services.
Having said this, they also want to implement Unity. After reading all of the postings, it doesn't seem that this configuration will work as long as Unity runs on 5.5
If we home all of the mailboxes on the Unity box(40 users) and leave only the workflow components on Exchange 2000.

But the way I see things, there can be only 1-way connector between the 2 servers. So the workflow portion that runs on Exchange 2000 won't be able to communicate with the Unity box.
Is there something that I am missing in this scenario? Is there any way to implement this scenario? Using Exchange 2000 just for workflow and using Unity to home all the mailboxes? Or is there another solution?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
