Exchange 5.5 to 2000

My Unity box is sitting by itself isolated from the rest of our email. We just upgraded our Exxchange servers to 2000. Now Voicemail notifications are not working. Everything seems to be set upcorrectly, I have the Conduit installed (actually I have not changed anything on the unity box) the IMS server is set up to not alloy relaying except for authenticated users, I have my domain info on the unity box in the conduit settings, but mail sits in the Queue and does not leave the box, I get an authentication error. If I disable the relay to allow all access through, I get the mail pushed through, but I never get the page...I have tested the page via normal email and it still works (Text page). Is there something with Exchange 5.5 sending SMTP to 2000 or is there something I need to format or change in unity to allow this to work, or am I looking strictly at an Exchange bug? Any ideas would be great.

------------------------------
Michael Perbix
Lower Merion School District
Telecommunicatons Specialist

not sure I'm following what you've done here... are the Unity sbuscribers now on Exchange 2000? Or are you trying to get text messages to go from Unity subscribers on the 5.5 system to mail users on the 2000 system?

Unity 2.x cannot properly log into mailboxes on Exchange 2000 so you wont get any notification triggers (and you wont be able to check messages from over the phone for that matter).

It is actually much simpler thatn that. The Unity box is standalone. I am simply using Exchange to send SMTP events (like text pages). Our SMTP server is now Exchange 2000 and the pages are not working. I have set up the box with authentication information, SMTP traffic is leaving the unity box, but not making it anywhere else. Is there a known problem with Exchange 5.5 talking to Exchange 2000 for SMTP that you are aware of, or any other unity issue (like the format of the message) that I can look at?
