Hi,

One our customer has unity3.1.5(UM) integrated with CM.Voicemails are in multiple exch 2000 servers. Now the customer is going for exch 2000 cluster.

I am not much aware of exch 2000 clustering.what changes should I do on unity when the customer is going for exch 2000 clustering.what will happen to voicemails in the previos exch2000 server.

The only real difference between a clustered and non-clustered Exchange 2000 server (as far as Unity is concerned) are the permissions required to access it. The local system account permissions don’t work with clusters. Therefore the Unity services which access Exchange must use a domain account. The best choice for this is the Unity_ account.

To set the Cisco Unity services to log on as the Unity_ account rather than the local system account, perform the following steps.

-Reset the Active Directory account password for Unity_.

-Set the AvCsGateway, AvCsMgr, AvUMRSyncSvr, AvGaenSvr, and AvMsgStoreMonitorSvr services to log on as Unity_.

-Add Unity_ to the Administrators group on the Cisco Unity server.

-In Active Directory, add the Unity_ account to the Exchange Domain Servers group.

-Give the Unity_ account logon as a service and logon as a batch job rights.

-Shut down and reboot the server.
