I have a Unity UM 4.0(3) that points to a mixed Exchange 2000/2003 environment. There is an exchange 2003 server (not just the exchange system manager) on the Unity as well - no mailboxes though. I would like to remove the Exchange server and leave ESM. Is there any trick to this beyond putting in the Exchange 2003 cd and chosing "remove" on all the components except the ESM? Note: the Unity is homed to a different 2003 server in the environment.
I think the choice you need to do it actually 'change' but yeah, that is pretty much it. Exchange will through an error if there is a mailbox or something else that you need to move first. As long as this wasnt the first Exchange server in the organization and you didnt touch it you shouldn't get an error.
