Existing PBX voice over not working/Need a cisco solution quick

Fujitsu 9600 pbx

I need to run voice over frame and replace existing voice over solution that is not working. I would like to utilize the Cisco products to do this or show it would work better with Cisco to allow an upgrade purchase into a better cisco line. I need help to achieve this. What modules could I use if I have a 1600 series at spokes and a 3600 at hub. Voice

over is already running in wan but is terrible.

The goal would be to show better voice over with

Cisco and then eventually migrate to full Voice over

Ip solution later.

Running in front of routers on a Nuera box at all

sites.

I would suggest looking at the 1700 series for voice support at the spokes. The 3600 should be fine for the main office. Cisco’s solution is great because of the Quality Of Service configuration you can do to prioritize voice traffic. You might want to call your Cisco rep to prepare a demo for you.

Good Luck!

Re: Existing PBX voice over not working/Need a cisco solution qu

Could you advise on modules needed.

It is a frame relay connection running frac T1's.

I'm running IP/IPX/and IPX type 20 propagation.

EIGRP is the routing protocol. 14 IPX servers

sending saps, but EIGRP should take care of this.

Voice lines are already plugged into another Frad

so I can just plug them into the module and take the

voice frad out of the picture. Correct.

Please advise. A simple swap out with the right modules and a new router at a spoke should be enough

to test and then sell the solution.

Re: Existing PBX voice over not working/Need a cisco solution qu

Here’s a list of available modules for the 3600 with T1/Voice from the catalog:

NM-HDV-1T1-12= Single-Port 12 Channel T1 Voice/Fax Network Module

NM-HDV-1T1-24= Single-Port 24 Channel T1 Voice/Fax Network Module

NM-HDV-1T1-24E= Single-Port 24 Enhanced Channel T1 Voice/Fax Network Module

NM-HDV-2T1-48= Dual-Port 48 Channel T1 Voice/Fax Network Module

The 1700’s with Voice support to choose from are:

CISCO1750-2V 10/100 Modular Router w/2 Voice channels, IOS IP/VOICE + SW

CISCO1750-4V 10/100 Modular Router w/4 Voice channels, IOS IP/VOICE + SW

Then you need a WAN module to the 1700:

WIC-1DSU-T1= 1-Port T1/Fractional T1 DSU/CSU WAN Interface Card

You’ll have to upgrade the IOS (& probably memory) to support your IPX and other needs

Hope this helps. Whenever I have a sales related question I call the Cisco 800 number for help. (1-800-553-NETS)

Are you using the FIPN IP Trunk card? If so I am just curious about any problems you might have experienced. We have done some testing and had good luck on our T1 network. Although we do use frame relay as our backup and I have heard in order to accomplish running voice over it I need to get a separate PVC for the voice and increase the CIR. But I am hesitant to even try if others have tried this and had problems with F9600.
