Express Messaging

Can we express message in 3.0.3, like Meridean Mail does? Here is the scenario, caller calls directly into vm and dials ext that does not ring phone, but goes directly to mailbox.

Shelly Cairns
Telephony Applications Engineer
952-967-8556

Re: Express Messaging

Currently the only way to get Unity to go right to the greeting without ringing the phone (assuming the subscriber is configured to ring a phone) is to append a "#2" to the end of the extension when you dial it at the opening greeting. If you were wanting to get someone to extension 1189 wihthout ringing the phone you'd need to access the opening greeting and dial 1189#2.

Some phone systems may be capable of a "transfer over ride" function that lets you send the call to Unity as a forward RNA call directly, but Unity is not directly invovled in this... we just see it as a forwarded call and act accordingly (i.e. send the caller to the greeting of the user).
