Extension Mobility Error [2]

Clifford McGlamry
Spotlight
Spotlight

New cluster setup of CCM 4.3(1) for government customer. Extension Mobility was working.

Applied hardening to servers required by customer, and now Extension Mobility returns "Error [2]" as soon as the extension mobility service is selected. IP Phone agent works fine.

Install is using DC Directory, and not active directory. Have not been able to locate any info on troubleshooting/resolving this.

Any pointers / help appreciated.

it might be an error with a user not being created in dir or registry, you would need to look at a EM trace to determine if this is the case

Not even getting to the point where the user puts in their ID when this happens.

EM trace is a good idea though...

i'm not referring to the users you need to log in EM, but to the users EM process uses to work which are different

it could be the emAPP user but a trace would tell exactly

EM trace is throwing two errors here:

%EMApp-3-UNK:EMAppServlet: Unable to initialize alarms

%EMApp-3-UNK:Unable to find registry entry for AppUserID/Password

But it's not AD Integrated. Not sure what to do here.

try resetting the ccmsysuser with ccmpwdchanger

This is 4.3(1) without AD integration. No such user exists in the system.

really? open your DCD admin, go to users and let me know

Changed the PWD, and restarted both Tomcat and CCM.

Same problem, no change. Am I missing something?

EM trace now shows:

%EMApp-3-UNK:Unable to find registry entry for AppUserID/Password

%EMApp-AMAPPSERVLET-7-UNK:Context:/emapp ::URI:/jsp/phone_error1.jsp

just to make sure, you ran the tool in the PUB, the pwd is only alphanumeric, did you reset IIS???

do you have these keys in registry?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cisco Systems, Inc.\Directory

Configuration\AppUsers\CCMSysUser\Password

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cisco Systems Inc.\Directory Configuration\AppUsers\EMApp
