Hello Guys,
Tomorrow we are going to have a fail over testing which means we are going to shutdown the MPLS cloud and will connect our three sites to the Internet via VPN. Our VPN is ready to be tested; do I need to check any thing in the Voice side? Do I need to change any configuration in CallManager? For instance any gateway, Route Group, Route list configuration? Could you please advise?
Thanks,
BT

Hi
You don't need to change any configuration - the system should continue to function as long as all devices are reachable... however there are considerations:
QoS will not be guaranteed over the VPNs - so you may find that voice quality and responsiveness (i.e. time to dial tone or call completion) is affected badly.
You need to determine whether it is best to allow voice to continue to pass over the WAN, or block traffic to your CallManagers from passing over the VPN to force the remote sites into SRST mode... at least that way quality of service is maintained at the loss of some features...
Regards
Aaron

Thanks Aaron,
When we use VPN, it means the MPLS (WAN) is down, how can I allow the voice to continue to pass over the WAN (it's down)?
How can I block traffic to the CallManager? Do I need to shutdown the CallManagers?
Thanks,
BT
