Re: Fax with IP Telephony Setup

There are several options avilable to you, which include:

VG 200/248 (EOL)

Voice Router with FXS cards

AGM Card for cat 4000, 4500, 6000 or 6500

All of the above provide for analog telephone support (i.e. faxes or handsets).

However none of these will provide the fax directly to a PC. As you have mentioned you would need to use some sort of Fax Product to do this, e.g. Zetafax, Unity, Winfax Pro, etc.

Re: Fax with IP Telephony Setup

Depends on the setup you have. You can do a T.37 store and forward on a router, and point it to a SMTP gateway to dump all of the faxes in a designated mailbox. No additional software needed, but unless you want to sit and monitor that mailbox you will want to have some small software to help. If you have a Unity server you can use the Third Party Fax tool from (it is free) and that will monitor the inbox for you and send the faxes out automatically.

You can also use T.38 on a router and a product like xMedius.

Re: Fax with IP Telephony Setup

There is some documentation for a deployment with xmediusfax and unity 3.1?

The information provided on unity admin guide isn't like a regular procedure...

we haven't local support for this product in Chile.
