A got a question from a customer that is using LightningFAX and is looking at adding UNITY to its system. Can he use the TUI to have e-mail sent to him by fax even if he doesn't buy any UNITY fax licenses?

the telephone interface will only offer to let you fax your email to you (or send faxes at all for that matter) if you have a fax mail license for that user (i.e. you have FaxMail turned on for the class of service that user is associated with).
You don't need FaxPorts, however. FaxPorts is used to dictate how many ports of fax you can have with Active Fax on the Unity server. If they have their own fully licensed version of LightningFax purchased from Interstar already running on a seperate box, you don't need to purchase fax ports.
If you've got a TTS license and a FaxMail license for that user, they will be offered the option of faxing themselves the contents of the email and any appropriate attachments on the mail.
