Feature Transparency, Voice Mail Integration w/ 2600 and HDV Module -

I have a customer that is using a drop and insert mux to split a T1 for data and connectivity to their Nortel Option 11 C PBXs. They have 7 64K channels and a D channel.

They have centralized voice mail and use Common Channel Signaling between their two locations PBXs.

They want more bandwidth for their data application, so I am recommending that they use 2600 routers with the HDV module to give them VAD and G.279.

I have done this for another customer but the difference here is the centralized voice mail.

Has anyone had any issues with this configuration from a feature transparency or voice mail integration perspective?

i don't know what muxes you have but i have used newbridge kit and did the voice compression on the muxes, i don't want to take buisness from cisco but it might be cheaper to get compression modules for your muxes rather than buy a routers and hdv cards. also there would probably be less configuration on the mux

hope this helps

I would go wiith the hdv card with a VWIC-2MFT-T1-DI=

You can drop and insert using this, eliminating the need for a mux.

Add or remove DS0s as needed.
