I've been trying to figure out over the past few days whether unity has the capability of being able to play a subscribers personal message to a caller that has been forwarded from that subscribers external cell phone.
Callviewer is showing the incoming CLID as the number that was actually calling the subscriber, not the cell number of the subscriber that the call was forwarded from.
Ideally, I'd like it to look like this..
EXTERNAL CALLER -> CELL PHONE -> CELL PHONE FORWARD NO ANSWER TO UNITY -> UNITY PLAYS PERSONAL GREETING BASED ON CLID OF CELL PHONE THAT EXTERNAL CALL WAS FORWARDED FROM
Is there anyway in Unity to do this.. or do I have to setup a translation in the call manager?
Unity is perfectly capable of doing this but Unity is not capable of reading the caller's mind and pulling a forwarding number out of thin air! If the forwarding number being reported to us is the number of the caller then this clearly isn't going to fly.
You can create alternate extensions for each subscriber that include their home phone, cell phone etc... no problem and if those numbers are passed to uas as the forwarding number we will forward directly to their greeting - we'll also auto log you in if that's reported as the calling number on a direct call. If you're not getting the right number passed to us as the forwarding number, however, you need to look further up stream and see why that is - we have no control whatsoever over this information.
