French language and Unity 2.4.6.161

We have installed Cisco Unity 2.4.6.1 (CallManager 3.1.3(c)) with french language. When pressing the messages button, the openning greeting is in french. But, when dialing the Voice Mailing DN (like 4377), the openning greeting is in english.

Is there someone who is able to help us out ?

Thank you.

What determines the language that the default databases Voice Names, and Greetings are recorded in, is the default GUI language chosen during installation.

If you wish to change these to French after the fact, you will have to copy the Voice Names, and Greetings for the default database from CD.

In 2.4.6 you can find the defaut database for French on CD 1 in the following

directory \Localize\DefaultConfiguration\FRA

If we use the messages button on the phone to get our messages averything is in FRENCH because the phone dial the number corresponding to the first Voice Port. But if we dial 4377 which is forward to the first Voice Port the system respond in ENGLISH.

The directory c:\CommServer\Localize\DefaultConfiguration\FRA (and ENU) are already there.

The configuration for the Call Handler «Opening Greeting» is:

Greeting: Standard

Status: Enabled

Source: Recording

if I select «System» we get in FRENCH «Désolé Opening Greeting est occupé ou n'est pas disponible» and in ENGLISH «If you would like to try an extension you may do so now ... good by»

During Greeting: Allow Caller Input (ON)

After Greeting: Say Goodbye

In the documentation «How call routing tables work» it is said «The default phone language is associated with a call when it first enters the Unity system»

Our default phone language has been set to French(Standard) the only one loaded because of the license. By the way we transfered UNITY on a new server recently. So for the license we use a dongle on the printer port. On the old server with the same dongle we had a license count of 6 for the language. Do you have an explanation ? Does the license count for the language come from the dongle or the CDs. We didn't use the same set of CDs on the new server.

When you press the message button, you state everything is in French, can you tell be exactly what prompt you hear when you press the message button?

All licensing is tied to the software security key you have attached to the printer port.

The prompt is «Veuillez entrer votre mot de passe». So it's not the «Opening Greeting».

The problem is resolved.

I used the CD to «record» with option «paste from file» of the Media Master control bar all the messages for «Opening Greeting».

I seems that we have installed UNITY with the ENU language .

Concerning the number of languages, if we run UNITY without the dongle we have 6 languages available for the DEMO.
