I have a client with a standalone unity (3.1.5) & call manager 3.2c. Client does not use exchange, they use smtp for e-mail server. Can Unity be configured to send or copy subscriber voice messages to the user's e-mail account?
Your best option here is to use VMI - this option sends an email to any SMTP address every time a user gets a new message - this email includes a link to a web based inbox to show you voice mail messages and let you play them back/delete them etc... this keeps your MWI/notification devices in sycnc where as just sending a copy of the message wont do that.
you can read a little about this in the user guide found here:
It's more than just MWIs getting out of synch and notifications not working - if we send a copy to another mail system then another copy sits in the user's inbox... their inbox will eventually fill up if they don't log in over the phone and delete those messages manually. If you move the message instead of copying it then you wont have phone access to your voice mail. Yuck.
This is a really poor solution and we wont support you doing it.

the same time it kind of is, but for the most part you don't configure
the softkeys. You enable or disable them via TCL. Here is the long
answer. Be sure to read the whole thing or e...
