I have seen information on using battery-reversal with ground start FXO trunks to detect a physical link disconnect. I am wondering if there is a configuration where one can detect physical link errors and automatically re-route calls with FXO-loopstart interfaces.
My scenario is a customer who deploys remote sites with POTS lines provisioned for 911 routing from a site. I would like to avoid potentially life threatening issues when a POTS line goes "missing".
Presently the customer is using MGCP (with SRST). Testing has not found a successful configuration. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.
