FXS Not passing DTMF

I have a Cisco 1760 with FXS ports in it that connect to a PBX. Everything works fine, but i cannot seem to pass DTMF tones to the PBX.

If a caller calls in and gets the auto attendant, they need to dial 100 for one user, 200 for another and so on.

Can this work with FXS ports?

Re: FXS Not passing DTMF

I don't think the FXS port is the problem - you probably just need to set up DTMF relay - do this on the FXS gateway and on any other gateways along the call path...

If you use MGCP you should have a command something like:

mgcp dtmf-relay voip codec all mode cisco

If h323, on the VOIP dial-peers you'll need:

dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric

Re: FXS Not passing DTMF

We are using h323 and our dial-peer looks like this:

dial-peer voice 6101 voip

huntstop

destination-pattern 6045551234

session target ipv4:10.157.0.2

dtmf-relay rtp-nte

fax rate 7200

ip qos dscp cs5 media

no vad

!

We tried the dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric and still have the same issue.

When i use dtmf-relay rtp-nte it works from my cell phone (Bell Canada) but not from Rogers or Telus. Any ideas?

Re: FXS Not passing DTMF

This is not possible with FXS because FXS does not pass DTMF digits. You would need to use either FXO or E&M to integrate with the PBX.
