Is it at all possible to use a 2600 with an FXS port connected directly to the PSTN, or do I have to use an FXO port instead to place and receive calls to and from the PSTN ?
An FXS interface connects directly to a standard telephone, fax machine, or similar device and supplies ring, voltage, and dial tone. You need an FXO port for connection to the PSTN
