Customer is setup to use G.711. Single Call manager, Unity 3.0 server, and VG200 PRI integrated with the Nortel PBX for on net calls is configured in a central site. 50 IP phones & 4224 in a remote location via T1.<br><br>Please let me know if there are any known issues with the codec conversion. I know we need to change CM, gateways and Unity to use G.729?<br><br>1) Do we need to re-record the greetings(opening & subscriber)?<br><br>2) Unity G729a installation gotchas?<br><br>3) any suggestions............<br><br>
You do not need to rerecord greeting and there are no install gotchas. The system can do the transcoding for you.
If you would you like have all of the messages stored in g.729 to save disk space you can fire up the setrecordformat.exe on the Unity system and change the recorded format to g.729. Only new messages and greeting will be recorded in g.729. The old messages and greeting will still be in whichever format you were using prior to the change made with this utility.
