You can change the called/calling party number type in Callmanager administration. Go to Device -> Gateway. Find your gateway and find the originating port. You will see Called party IE number type and Calling party IE number type. The default for these is Cisco Callmanager which works well most of the time. If you are outside of the US or are connecting to a PBX, another type may be required. The type can also be changed on a more granular basis (based on called number, etc) by using voice translation rules on the gateway. Take a look at the following link.
