Does anyone have any knowledge of how well/if Group 4 fax capabilities are supported on the various analog devices available (ATA, VG248, 224, IOS VIC-2FXO, etc.). Any real world experience or documentation links would be appreciated. I've been searching for some info on this but haven't had much luck.
Group 4 faxes uses an unrestricted digital 64K ISDN B channel to pass the fax data, so they do not work with any Cisco voice products. Group 3 (max rate 14.4Kbps) is supported via Cisco-rtp fax relay, T38 fax relay or fax passthrough using G711 codecs.
