Guideline for headsets?

We are starting our migration soon from an older PBX to CallManager. Is there a way to reuse any of our old headsets from Plantranics and Hello Direct? Or is it just better to go with new headsets? Any preferances?

Majority of our users will have 7940 phones with the power users assigned 7960 phones.

Hi Tommer,

We have had great success with Plantronics headsets as we migrated people in the same fashion you are. If the headset is currently connected via a M-10 Amplifier you will need a different cord from the quick-disconnect to the 7940/7960. The part number for this cord is #Amp - 26716-01 (about $8 Canadian). If they are using M-12 Amplifiers you should be good to go!

Hi Tommer,

I have some products you may be interested in - Headset Adapters for a Cisco IP phones. You can use either standard cell phone headsets or PC Multimedia headsets. Most people already have either or both of these headsets, so, they can use them in the office. And even if you need to buy another headset, Plantronics headset for a cellphone costs $25-30, when Plantronics headset for a Cisco costs $75-100.
