I have FreeBSD box (version 7.1) with ftpd server. ftpd server working fine for me if I log to it manually or by my ftp client.
But cisco ios can not write cdr file to this ftp. Error very strange. I see in sniffer ftp session. Cisco ios connect to ftp. FTP return 220 Hello bla bla bla. And Cisco IOS FTP Client is shut up. Silenc till disconnect by timeout. Below config and debug.
Get your IOS up to 12.4(24)T1 and it will work, Ftp was broken in the last few releases for this and config Archiving. I had updated to 12.2.24T to setup the cdr stuff and it broke my ftp config archiving and of course it wouldn ftp CDR info ether. When I upgraded to 12.4.(24)t1 both worked.
This is crazy, I remember having these problems years ago... I've setup another using a 2901 and still the same types of problems. what gives?
