I want the Gateway to act as H.323 Gatekeeper aswell. I have 3 ISDN lines (that's why I need 2xVICs).
I have doubts about the DSPs and the License. According with some Cisco documents I read, I need TI C5510 DSPs or NM-HD2V (which supports C5510 DSPs) to make the videocalls work, but here I selected PVDM3-16, which I think hasn't the TI C5510. Should I install PVDM2 instead of PVDM3 with the adapter? Do I need the Unified Border Element Enterprise License? Does the Cisco 2901 fully support H.320 calls?
I've been taking a look at the Telepresence product line, since the old IPVC line is already in EOS, but I couldn't find any product with BRI. The ISDN GW 3241 only supports PRI. It's not easy to find a dedicated product for this purpose in the market...apart from RADVISION Gateways, that's why I thought about a Cisco router acting as a GW.
One reason is that BRI VC is largerly legacy so there ino more interest in the market. You may be able to still find unsold 3522s units from distributors, or buy used. Otherwise I recommend you test the router solution before committing to it.
I finally tried the solution with the 2901. I managed to establish communication from Huawei IP-VC equipments in the H323 side and a Lifesize Networker GW in the H320 side, using H264 and G711uLaw for video and audio, over only one BRI at 128k, but (a big but), after some time (half a minute- one minute), the outgoing video stream stops, and after some more time, the incoming stream also stops. I checked that the Huawei VC and the remote LifeSize codec are still sending the stream, and I noticed that the DSP stopped processing video data with the command "show voice dsp" (the TX/RX count on the video stream just stops). The audio stream keeps on working just fine.
Any idea of why is this happening or how can I troubleshoot this a little bit more?
I'm not able to access my old voice mail messages all of a sudden. The recording says something like 'the message is currently not available'. This has never happened before in all the years I have been using this system. I have t...
