H.323 and MGCP on same Gateway

Hi all,

we're using CCM 3.2(2c) and a 3660 with BRIs (PSTN connection) and FXS interfaces as H.323 gateway. Due to billing requirements I now would like to access the FXS ports using MGCP.

Does anyone know if it is possible at all (especially in CCM) and if yes are there known problems.

Hello Gunnar, unfortunately configuring H323 and MGCP in the same gateway is not supported.

We have gateways configured with both H.323 and mgcp and there has not been any issue. However any endpoint (DS0 or analog port) will only use one of them, not both.
