H.323 and NAT

I was wondering how I can get H.323 to work in an environment where NAT is being used? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: H.323 and NAT

I've looked around for a firewall/proxy server which would support H323 and pass RTP traffic through networks which were NAT'ed. The PIX doesn't do it, you will have some success looking at aravox [voiceshield] although I have not performed a hands-on evaluation yet.

Re: H.323 and NAT

Actually, PIX software does support H.323v2 in NAT as of 5.2(x) and later.

See http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/iaabu/pix/pix_v52/pixrn521.htm

Also, IOS-based NAT supports it in the latest 12.1(x)T versions.

Re: H.323 and NAT

I suggest you take a look at Ridgeway's Secure Communicator product: www.ridgewaysystems.com.

It's primary function is to enable the deployment of end to end IP voice and video by securely traversing NAT routers and firewalls!

Regards,

Graham
