H.323 Gateway Questions / Config with CCM 4.0.2a

I have a 3825 router connected to 2 PRIs and configured as an H.323 gateway with CCM 4.0.2a, my question is when users make outbound calls and one of the PRIs is busy or offline, will the gateway know to send calls to other PRI ? or users will get a busy signal ?

And how can I configure the gateway to send calls to the other PRI when one of the PRIs is busy or offline ?

And the same questions go with IOS MGCP and None IOS MGCP gateway.

Thanks in advance !!!

Danny

Re: H.323 Gateway Questions / Config with CCM 4.0.2a

Danny,

Take a look at the following link regarding setting up H.323 gateways with CCM.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_tech_note09186a0080094636.shtml

To achieve the failover functionality you describe with H.323, you would need 2 dial peers, such as:

dial-peer voice 1 pots

destination-pattern 9T

preference 0 (This is the default)

port 0/0:23

dial-peer voice 2 pots

destination-pattern 9T

preference 1

port 0/1:23

Regarding MGCP, see the following link and sublinks for the steps for configuring both CCM and the gateway.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_tech_note09186a008017825e.shtml

With MGCP, Callmanager controls all call routing decisions, so you would achieve redundancy by configuring multiple MGCP endpoints which are added to a route group.

Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.
