Right now we have 3 310 blades in our ICS 7750. The drives are Seagate 20 gig 5400 rpm drives. We are looking to buy 3 more drives and image each of the hard drives before we try to upgrade, and also as another layer of backup. My question is, would buying 7200 rpm drives possibly create more heat than the ics 7750 should handle? I plan on getting drives that run fairly cool, but by nature it seems as though any 7200 rpm drive would run hotter than a newish 5400rpm one.
