I'm making PSTN calls from IP Phones and hear hissing noise between ringback. Voice network includes CallManagers, Cat4k AGM gateway (T1-Pri)and phones. How do I eliminate this noise ? Thanks for all inputs.
Make sure you have vad disable on the gateway under the dial-peer voice x voip. Make sure callmanager has silence suppresion turned off system wide and with gateways. Another thing I would do is get a call up over the gateway and do a show call active voice. Make sure it actually says that vad is disabled. If it is not then you can use the incoming-called number command to force it to match the correct voip dial-peer on an outbound call.
One more thing is are you getting the ringback in the audio stream or is callmanager telling the phone to play it?
