Hi,

I have to CCM systems setup, one live and one development. I would like to have a call that hits one callmanager transferred to the other. Does anyone know how to do this within callmanager? The live system has a gateway configured for MGCP.

cheers,

Hi,

You could set up an Inter Cluster Trunk between the two Clusters, and set up a valid route pattern on the live CCM for the DN's on the Development cluster. Then you could have calls hit route points etc to Call Forward to the phones on the Dev system.

This should allow two way calling, transfer etc between the clusters.

HTH.

Bill.

The two callmanager systems are completely separate. They do not share the same database. I was thinking of setting up a call forward on the route point on the live system to forward to a route point on the development system. How is this done and how should outbound calls be configured.

Hi Ashley,

you can use an Gatekeeper to transfer the calls from the one to the other Callmanager.

I think this is the best prktice.

Hope this help.

Hi Chris,

Can you provide some details or point me in the right direction as to how you think it'd be best to set this up.

cheers,

The first step configure a gatekeeper:

look at this url: http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios121/121newft/121limit/121x/121xm/121xm_5/ft_0394.htm#1041863

Example Config for Cisco 3640 IOS Version 12.1(20)

interface Ethernet0/0

description ### company LAN ###

ip address 10.69.8.1 255.255.255.0

full-duplex

ntp broadcast client

!

gatekeeper

zone local gk-life company.com 10.69.8.1

zone remote gk-test company.com 10.69.8.1 1719

zone subnet gk 10.0.0.0/8 enable

zone prefix gk-life 80.....

zone prefix gk-test 81.....

accounting

gw-type-prefix 1#* default-technology

no shutdown

!

The second step: Configure the Callmanager to comunicate wth the gatekeeper.

1.) Device/Gatekeeper -> Enter the IP from the Gatekeeper

2.) Device/Trunk -> H.225 Trunk (Gatekeeper Controlled)

2.1) Gatekeepr Name -> Select Gatekeeper IP

Terminal Type -> Gateway

Technology Prefix -> 1#*

Zone -> gk-life (for the callmanager life system and gk-test for the callmanager test system)

3) Route Plan/Route Pattern

Add new Route Pattern

for examle -> 80XXXX (look at the Gk Zone Config, 80XXXX for the callmanager life-system enter 81XXXX on the test system)

3.1) Gateway/Route List -> gk-life (on the test system gk-test)

3.2) Route Plan/Translation Pattern

Add a translation pattern and discard digits 80.XXXX with pre dot

This is a very very short example.

Hope this help.
