How do you lenghten key tones over voip

My users are not able to dial into their correct voice mailboxes after the voice system answers. I am using a 2611 with a T1 controller set up with e&m wink start and a Rolm PBX on one end. I am using voice e&m cards attached to a Nortel key system on the other end. The users on the Nortel end dial into their voice mail (on the Rolm end). The attendant answers and then they are prompted to dial their mail number. At this point, they are not able to access their voice mail because the digits dialed do not go through correctly. The phone system people say that the key tones are not long enough. Please help. Thank you.

One solution will be (if calls are arriving over

a VoIP network) to use dtmf-relay command

onto the dial peers.

The tones are not correctly transported

over a packet infrastructure compressed

with voice algorithms.

DTMF relay will enable the routers to detect and

realy the tones over the packet infrastructure (the

lenght of the tones will not be changed).
