How should voip faxing be set up?

At the main site I have a 4006 with a gateway card in it for incoming and outgoing PSTN access. I also have a 2610 connected via a full T1 to the main site with a fax machine attached to an fxs port. The fax machine is unable to send or recieve faxes although I can dial the number and hear the fax. What is the recommended way for setting this up to work?

Re: How should voip faxing be set up?

1. Do you have a call manager involved at the main site.

2. send a debug vtsp all and debug vpm all on the

c2610 and the sh run & sh ver.

You can use fax-passthrough and MGCP to connect c4000 T1 & c2610 fxs to call manager.

and if no call manager is involved , the still use fass-pastrough using h323 between the two gateways.

You can enable redundancy for fax-passtrough for more resileient against packet drops.
