How to configure Microsoft Outlook to synchronize contacts with Personal Di

Hi, Everybody

How to configure Microsoft Outlook to synchronize contacts with Personal Directory, if the Microsoft Outlook is installed connected to an Microsoft Exchange Server.

Cisco says that to make it work it is necessary that Microsoft Outlook be set up in internet-only mode.

Is there any work around to this, it doesn't make sense!

I do want to use the Cisco IP Phone Address Book Synchronizer plugin with Microsoft Outlook XP contacts that is connected to an exchange server.

Thanks in advance for your help

MP,

Not sure if you want an answer from Cisco to this question ;-) but here goes.

The Tabsync that comes withCallManager synchronizes between the Windows Address Book and the CallManager Address Book. It has no knowledge of MAPI to allow logging not your Exchange account.

You can use Personal Assistant or Cisco IP Phone Productivity Services to perform the synchronization you want. The use of either one will require it's own dedicated server. Please contact your local Cisco Account team to discuss any licensing issues to use either of these.

Re: How to configure Microsoft Outlook to synchronize contacts w

Hi, Kev

Thank you for your help.

In fact we manage to put it working with Microsoft Outlook express contacts. We did check the registry of the client machine and notice that the diference between the contacts of Outlook express and Outlook is that Outlook express have Ldap protocol.

So tabsync establish connection with outlook express contacts instead of outlook xp/2000.

I think most of companies uses outlook instead of outlook express, so should be any work around to solve this.

Thanks in advance
