The ATA was plugged in and registered automatically with CME as last ephone, let's say ephone 10. So I unplug ATA, it unregisters and shows as DECEASED. But I can't modify other ephones with ATA MACs because router is complaining that MAC already exists. 'no ephone 10' has no effect. It still shows as DECEASED.
The only way to remove ATAs that registered automatically is reboot the router.
Is there other way?
Thanks.

You could change the MAC address for ephone 10 to a dummy address so you can use the real MAC for another ephone.
Hope this helps.
