We are using CallManager 3.3 and 7940/7960 IP phones. We now have to wait 4 rings to get to people's voice mail. Is there anyway that we can control the number of rings on this? Please help.

Modify the "Forward No Answer Timeout" in Callmanager service parameter.

It sounds to me like you want to shorten the number of rings when the person who answers the call sends it to someone's voice mail. The "Forward No Answer Timeout" will shorten the No Answer for all calls. If you are trying to transfer directly to Voice Mail try this link.

It takes a little set up work but I use it and it works great.

Brian,
Thank you very much for your reply. However, I probably should explain my question more detailly. We have a covering path and there are 3 people on the path. If everyone's phone rings 4 times then it is 12 times to get into a voice mail box and it is too long. On the other hand, not all people are on a covering path so shorten everyone's number of rings will not work. I just want to shorten some certain people's phones number of rings. Would you please help? Thanks

Unfortunately at this time is not currently possible to change the number of rings on a per line basis.

Your only option is to setup IPMA, this gives you the ability to shorten the number of rings.
