how to upgrade firmware of ip phones without CM?

I'm curious about upgrade procedure without any CallManager.

I have IP Phones, 7940, 7940.

Do any method exist to accomplish it?

You should be able to copy config files and load files on to a TFTP server and point the phones to the TFTP server. It will upgrade. It will not register, but then, once it upgrades, you can point it back to the CCM..

Curious, what exactly are you trying to do?

Actually, My CallManamger does not work properly to upgrade firmware some kinds of ip phones, especially 7940 ip phone. Thus, not sync both of CM and IP Phones caused some problem in my company. So I'll try to upgrade firmware without CallManager. After upgrading, i should register CallManager.

Actually, I tried to upgrade 7940 ip phones directly connectd my pc with tftp server, but not work perperly. additionally, i don't know which port should be connect with my pc, as you know, 7940 ip phone have two port, pc side and switch side.

I tried to connect both of ports, but the ip phone dispalyed on LCD "Not connect Ethernet port".

ok, if you are directly connecting it, you need a crossover ethernet cable.

connect it to the port that says switch.
