how would we check if voice controllers are up ?

i'm new in ip communications, don't know really what show command to run to check if voice controllers are all working fine ? als, how do we check if someone's actually calling or using the router for voice communications ? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !!!

You can use the following commands:

show controllers T1 (to show T1/PRI status for example)

show voice port summary

show call active voice

In the router do a

show controllers

show isdn status if PRIs.

CMM#sh isdn status

Global ISDN Switchtype = primary-4ess

ISDN Serial3/0:23 interface

******* Network side configuration *******

dsl 0, interface ISDN Switchtype = primary-dms100

Layer 1 Status:

ACTIVE

Layer 2 Status:

TEI = 0, Ces = 1, SAPI = 0, State = MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED

Layer 3 Status:

0 Active Layer 3 Call(s)

Active dsl 0 CCBs = 0

The Free Channel Mask: 0x807FFFFF

Number of L2 Discards = 0, L2 Session ID = 15
