HP DL380 RAM

Hi all

Has anyone tried to set up a HP Server (DL380 G5 assembled according to Cisco recommendations) with more than 4GB RAM??

I tried to set it up with 6GB but Windows can not use more than 4GB. I read some articles about the 4GB Limit and how break it (/PAE Switch) but I don't know if that is supported (TAC).

Has anyone an idea?

Thanks Reto

Re: HP DL380 RAM

Hello,

Actually, you must meet the HW requirements in order to have a fully supported server and the 4 GB restriction is W-32bit restriction not Cisco.

The problem will be if you break Windows limit and if for any reason yo start experiencing any problems, TAC will deny the support.

I think that is better to have 4 GB and TAC support instead of 6GB without it.
