HSRP & PABX IS IT POSSIBLE????

Is it possible to provide voice redundancy in a hsrp environment without having problems with voice call routing?

I have the a VoIP project, where backbone site have two AS5300 series routers with HSRP enabled. Each router has an E1 connection to PBX.

With HSRP, only one router is active, so PBX is going to work well

redirecting calls to the 30 voice channels in active E1 trunk. If these 30

channels are busy, I think PBX will try to use the other E1 trunk, that is

connected to the standby router. In this second case, calls will not be

completed, because router is in standby mode.

Is there a way to configure routers in order to have the standby router

sending the PBX an "not available" msg (or busy) for the PBX be advised to

not forward calls to these specific 30 voice channels?

Re: HSRP & PABX IS IT POSSIBLE????

Hi,

NO this is not possible. The HSRP function and busyout are not linked.

The standby would not be able to send busyout to the PBX. HSRP would work for IP only

redundancy.
