ICS 7750 with Unity 4.0.2 Voice Messaging - No Active Directory

I'm currently installing Unity 4.0.2 on an SPE within the ICS 7750 in a voice messaging only configuration. CallManangers are also on SPE's running version 3.3.3.

Documentation shows that only Exchange 2000 Message store is supported for a new Voice Messaging install with Unity 4.0.2.

Problem: Client is running Windows NT 4.0 domain only -- No Active Directory which is preventing me from doing the Exchange 2000 Message store installation.

What is the supported/recommend fix -- besides forcing the client to upgrade to Active Directory.

You have a couple options here...

install the Unity server in it's own domain entirely as a completely stand alone box - for VM only this is fine.

You can install Windows 2000 into an NT 4.0 domain without a hitch and then install AD and Exchange 2000 on that box - it wont require you change anything in the NT 4.0 DCs.

Thanks Jeff,

I just wanted to be sure that running a domain controller and a separate domain on the Unity blade would be supported. Thanks for the info.
