Importing Exchange Users

We have recently installed Unity 3.02.

We can import normal excahnge users without any porblems BUT any users which have been moved from one server to another don't show up on the searches either using 'Unity Import' or the the normal 'Import Existing Exchange User'. I have tried moving the user back to the original server without any joy. Have also checked the 'allow rich text' setting in Raw mode also without success. All other users on the same server the user now resides on show up fine.

Has anyone got any idea what could be causing this?

Many thanks.

Is this Exchange 5.5 or 2K? Where are these servers you're moving them to relative to the Unity server (i.e. are they in the same site, domain etc...)?

Exchange 5.5 & All of the servers are on the same domain and site.

Any chance these were Unity subscribers at one point and didn't get cleaned properly? Can you open Exchange in raw mode and check for custom properties 12 or 14? If either are set Unity may assume this is a user associated with another Unity server in the site and now allow you to import them as a subscriber.

Many thanks, This turned out to be the problem.

I'm having the exact same problem with Unity and Exchange 2K. Where would these attributes be in this case?

With Exchange 2000 they are stored in Active Directory. You can use Microsoft ADSI Edit to remove the Unity properties or Cisco Bunny Killer. I highly suggest Bunny Killer. You can pick it up here:
