Incoming ring times

We have several centers set up with CCM. When we call into these centers it takes two sometimes three rings then you hear a ..skip in tone(You also can see it in the Router under voice call sum) The skip is when it finally reaches the receptioists phone and is ringing. Is there a timer to decrease the time it takes to hit the first set and start ringing?

What type of connection do you have to the PSTN? I would guess POTS lines connected to FXO cards? If so, my guess would then be that the router is waiting on caller id before it picks up the call.
