increase / decrease volume

I have 3 sites (NY, VA, NJ) that are connected over a VoIP network. My users at NY usually complain that voice from the other 2 sites are too lood, but at the same time VA users complain that calls from NY are not loud enough. Any suggestions? i am thinking about input gain, but i am not sure exactly how that plains in increasing/decreasing the volume and still maintaining good voice quality.

regards,

M.

Re: increase / decrease volume

May be you should try tuning attenuation and input gain parameters on your Voice gateways.

Re: increase / decrease volume

I had a similar problem a while back, albeit involving calls over the PSTN.

I set the output attenuation to -6 to increase the outgoing volume on the router, and set input gain (can't remember the exact value) to increase the inbound volume levels.

NB. There was an issue with the commands not working intermittently with some ios levels. In the end, we got it working with 12.2(8)T.
