We have 3 Callmanagers in a single cluster and the DC Directory is working fine on 2 of them. On the third CCM, while accessing Global Directory via Callmanager Administration webpage, getting the following error.
"Couldn't create user object. [object error]"
The DC Directory service is shown as Started. Also did a directory clean up, but still having the same problem.
Also on one of the good CCM, after stopping the DC Directory services and then trying the access the Global Directory, getting the same error. Hence thought may be the DC Directory service is not installed properly or is corrupted on the third CCM.
IS there any way we can install just the DC Directory services ?? Thanks in advance.
First try resetting the DC Directory. In order to reset it you can try unregistering and reregistering the DLL associated with it,
c:\program files\ cisco user preferences\DirAdmin\Bin> regsvr32 /u diruser.dll --->for unregistering
c:\program files\ cisco user preferences\DirAdmin\Bin> regsvr32 dirser.dll ---> for registering.
If you find out that the DC Directory is totally corrupted and there is nothing else you can do, then you can try reinstallation of DC Directory alone on the CCM. Please remember if you haven't saved the DC Directory's contents or do not have a backup, you will lose all the data.
The process of REINSTALLING DC DIRECTORY ONLY ON CCM is
1) Start > Programs > DC Directory Server > Uninstall DC Directory
If this does not work properly, then
1a) Go to Add Remove Programs and remove the two entries associated with DC Directory.
2) Make sure the Registry entries for DC directory are deleted or renamed
and download " IntegratedInstall224.exe " and the release notes for the same.
5) Click on the IntegratedInstall224.exe, it will start the installation of DC Directory, put in the relevant information and you are good to go. Remember, if this is done on a publisher, there are so many other strings attached which you need to be careful of.

the same time it kind of is, but for the most part you don't configure
