InterCluster Trunk and MTP

Hi..

I have two cluster of CCM connected using ICT (non-gatekeeper controlled).

When i checked the "Media Termination Point Required" checkbox under each ICT, i realised that when i make calls between the two clusters, a hardware transcoder will be invoked.

If i uncheck the checkbox, then no transcoder will be invoked.

Would like to understand under what circumstances will we need to tick this checkbox.

Media Termination Points are required for supplementary features to available for H323 devices. Thats the quick summary. Here is the exact explanation for understanding MTPs from the CCM documentation.
