Intercom - Cisco CallManager 4.1

What's the simplest way to provide intercom capabilities to end users?

Is there a feature code that can be dialed along with an extension number that will make the call automatically be "live" and heard through the speaker of the phone being intercommed to?

We have something currently in place, which requires a matching extension (with a 1* preceding it), to be configured as an added line (requiring a button). Is there a better way, than this?

Nat,

Callmanager Express has built-in paging/intercom functionality, but Callmanager does not. A couple of options are to interface with an external paging unit through an analog port or use a 3rd party such as Berbee to page/intercom to the phones.

On CM you have a couple of options.

One is enabling and setting up IPMA - which is a pain, but is included in the feature set of CM.

A simple intercom can be created by creating a DN with Auto Answer w/ Speakerphone and placing a Speed dial to that DN on the Assistant's phone. Also set it up in a separate CSS so others can not call it.

You need Rapidbroadcast from www.cistera.com.

It is the only intercom solution for Cisco Call Manager that is certified by ATT.
